Responsible for overall management and coordination of the service to include fiscal resource management, human resource management, capital improvements and quality of services including enhancement of human experience (patient, families and caregivers).Major Job FunctionsThe following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:Plan, organize and supervise clinical operations to provide careDevelop and implement policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of servicesEstablish, in collaboration with interdisciplinary team, positive professional relationshipsFacilitate team meetings, daily rounds and communication among patients, families, interdisciplinary team members and contracting agenciesEstablish and maintain mechanisms to monitor continuing compliance with JCAHO, OSHA, and other regulatory/accrediting agencies' standardsEnsure adherence to safety protocols and infection control measures within the unitEstablish and maintain mechanism whereby staff members are identified as being competent to safely and effectively utilize the appropriate equipment in their work areaAssume responsibility for continuously assessing and improving performance via participation in Performance Improvement (PI) activities and Quality Control mechanismsParticipate in selection of external sources of patient care services when such services are requiredTake necessary steps to determine the complete and accurate charging for patient services rendered as well as monitor, adjust and, where possible, correct negative expense variancesDevelop, implement and evaluate strategic plans and operations via departmental budgets, PI Plan and Management Outcome Plan, focusing on enhancing patient care servicesCollaborate with Care Coordination staff to identify barriers to patient throughput, intervene to eliminate barriers, and facilitate discharges early in the dayOversee, facilitate and monitor patient experience, patient throughput and hospital functional capacity through compliance with the Hospital Innovation Project (HIP)Other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsThe following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:Education and Formal Training: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in North CarolinaBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) requiredMaster of Science in Nursing (MSN) or master’s degree in other health related field preferredNursing certification preferred.Unit Description:We are nationally recognized as one of America’s 100 Best Hospital for Cardiac care and Coronary InterventionWe provide comprehensive cardiac services enhanced with the use of state-of-the-art equipment.Our Chest Pain Center is Accredited through the Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC).Our Care team consists of a team that provides safe quality care: Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nurse Assistants, Unit Clerks, Resource Nurses, Care Coordinators, Clinical Educator and Nurse Manager.Our patients include Adult and Geriatric patients.Work Experience:Congestive Heart Failure, Chest Pain, PVDPre and Post Cardiac Cath ProceduresPre and Post Angioplasty and Stent PlacementPost Acute Myocardial InfarctionStress TestCardiac Dysrhythmias such as Stable SVT & SB, Acute & Chronic AfibPre and Post AICD placement3-5 years clinical experience related to nursing area of management required 3-5 year of management or management-related experience requiredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English languageDemonstrate leadership characteristicsWorking knowledge of budgets, staffing, Performance Improvement as well as regulatory requirementsStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to make informed decisions and handle crisis situations effectivelyKnowledgeable of the NC Nurse Practice ActKnowledge of age-specific considerations for patients servedPhysical Requirements: Speech and auditory acuity for communication of patient needsVisual acuity for observation of patientsLong periods of standing, walking, bending, and liftingOccasional assistance with heavy liftingMay be required to work variable shifts on occasionMay involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material#CFVH-2026Required Licenses and CertificationsRN - Board Of NursingCape Fear Valley Health System is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity
