We are looking for a caring and dependable childcare professional who can support daily nursery activities and contribute to a positive learning environment.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Nursery Assistant / Childcare Helper to support teachers and childcare staff with daily classroom activities, child supervision, learning activities, routines, and general nursery operations.The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, energetic, and genuinely committed to supporting children's wellbeing, development, and learning.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist nursery teachers and childcare staff with daily classroom and childcare activities.Supervise children during play, learning, meals, outdoor activities, arrival, and departure periods.Support age-appropriate educational, creative, sensory, music, movement, and recreational activities.Help children develop social, communication, coordination, independence, and early-learning skills.Prepare classroom materials, toys, activity stations, worksheets, and learning resources.Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and child-friendly classroom environment.Assist children with routine activities such as meals, handwashing, toileting, dressing, and personal-care routines as appropriate.Follow established child-safety, safeguarding, hygiene, and supervision procedures.Monitor children's behavior, participation, wellbeing, and general needs, reporting concerns promptly to the lead teacher or supervisor.Encourage positive behavior through age-appropriate communication, patience, and consistent routines.Provide additional support to children who may need extra assistance with activities or classroom routines.Help organize indoor and outdoor play areas and ensure toys and equipment are safely stored.Clean and sanitize classroom materials and shared areas according to nursery procedures.Assist with attendance, daily records, activity logs, and basic classroom documentation.Support teachers during special events, celebrations, educational activities, field trips, and parent-engagement activities.Communicate professionally with teachers, administrators, parents, and guardians when required.Maintain confidentiality of children's personal information, family information, developmental observations, and nursery records.Report accidents, injuries, safety concerns, or safeguarding issues immediately through established procedures.Assist with emergency procedures and follow nursery health and safety protocols.Support smooth transitions between activities, classrooms, meals, rest periods, and outdoor sessions.Help create an inclusive environment where children feel respected, comfortable, supported, and encouraged.Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional-development activities.Follow nursery policies, safeguarding standards, health requirements, hygiene procedures, and organizational guidelines.RequirementsBachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Early Childhood Education, Education, Childcare, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.3+ years of professional experience in nursery, preschool, childcare, teaching assistance, or early-years education is preferred.Genuine interest in working with young children and supporting their development.Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.Patient, caring, responsible, attentive, and professional personality.Strong understanding of basic child-development principles and age-appropriate activities.Ability to follow instructions, routines, safeguarding procedures, and classroom policies carefully.Strong observation skills and ability to identify changes in children's behavior or wellbeing.Good teamwork, communication, organization, and time-management skills.Ability to remain calm and patient in busy childcare environments.Basic first-aid knowledge or childcare safety training is advantageous.Experience supporting children with additional learning or developmental needs is advantageous.Arabic or other language skills are advantageous in multicultural nursery environments.Experience with Montessori, EYFS, Reggio Emilia, or other early-years educational approaches is advantageous.Early Childhood Education, childcare, safeguarding, first-aid, or related certifications are advantageous but not required.What We OfferFlexible part-time working opportunities within a professional early-years education environment.Competitive compensation aligned with experience, childcare expertise, and responsibilities.Opportunity to support children's learning, development, confidence, and social skills.Exposure to early-childhood education, classroom support, child development, safeguarding, and family engagement.Professional development opportunities and continuous learning in childcare, early education, classroom management, and child safety.A warm and collaborative environment where patience, kindness, responsibility, child wellbeing, teamwork, and professional care are highly valued.
