As part of the wider SADCO Group, the nurseries benefit from strong operational oversight and a clear, long-term vision for sustainable, scalable childcare provision.Role Description The Nursery Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Glasgow, responsible for the day-to-day leadership and operational management of the nursery. This includes overseeing curriculum delivery and daily routines, ensuring that children receive safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate care and education. The role involves managing staff teams through coaching, supervision, and rota planning, as well as supporting professional development and performance reviews. The Nursery Manager maintains compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory requirements, and ensures that policies and procedures are consistently applied. Key responsibilities also include budget management, enrolment and occupancy planning, and building strong partnerships with families through clear communication and regular feedback.QualificationsStrong expertise in safeguarding and safeguarding children, with up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices.Experience working in a nursery environment, with a solid understanding of early years care, education, and nursery operations.Proven nursery management skills, including staff leadership, team development, rota planning, and performance management.Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, families, staff, and external stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.Relevant early years qualification (e.g., SVQ, HNC, or equivalent) and knowledge of national early years frameworks and inspection standards.Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, oversee resources, and maintain high-quality environments that support children’s learning and wellbeing.Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise, remain calm under pressure, and make informed decisions.Previous experience in a supervisory or management role in childcare or education settings is highly desirable.
