This full-time, on-site role includes leading and supervising the nursery team, managing staff schedules, and supporting professional development. The Nursery Manager maintains high standards of care and education by implementing age-appropriate curricula, monitoring children’s progress, and fostering positive relationships with families. The role involves ensuring compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory requirements, as well as managing admissions, occupancy, and administrative tasks. The Nursery Manager also collaborates with external partners and supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the nursery’s quality and reputation.Qualifications Strong nursery and nursery management experience, including responsibility for daily operations and staff supervision.Demonstrated knowledge of safeguarding and safeguarding children practices, with a commitment to child protection and welfare.Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with children, families, staff, and external stakeholders.Relevant early years or childcare qualification (e.g., Level 3 or above in Early Years Education, Childcare, or equivalent).Understanding of early years curricula, child development, and inclusive practice.Organizational and leadership skills, including experience with staff scheduling, reporting, and regulatory compliance.Ability to work on-site full time in Torquay and to respond effectively to operational and child-related needs.Experience with quality assurance processes and continuous improvement in an education or childcare setting is beneficial.
