OverviewJob Title: OB NocturnistEmployment Type: Full-TimeOrganization: Central Maine HealthcareLocation: Lewiston, MainePosition OverviewCentral Maine Medical Center, in partnership with Prime Healthcare, is seeking a dedicated OB Hospitalist / Nocturnist to join our growing Women’s Health team. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered obstetric care in a supportive, collaborative environment during overnight hours.The ideal candidate is a confident, clinically strong physician who thrives in an autonomous night role while working closely with nursing staff, medical students, residents and support staff. We do approximately 900 deliveries annually and have a Level II NICU with in-house pediatrics and anesthesia.Nocturnist position (11 shifts/month. From award-winning chefs and fresh Maine seafood to craft breweries, waterfront dining and vibrant farmers markets, the city has become a destination for food lovers from around the world.ResponsibilitiesProvide in-house overnight obstetric coverageManage labor & delivery triage, admissions, and emergenciesPerform vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections as neededRespond to OB emergencies, including fetal distress and urgent interventionsCollaborate with OB/GYN physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and NICU teamsEnsure timely documentation and adherence to clinical protocolsSupport patient safety and quality initiativesQualificationsMD or DO, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & GynecologyActive or eligible for medical licensure in MaineStrong experience in labor & delivery and obstetric emergenciesExcellent communication and team collaboration skillsFluent in Lingala, French, Portuguese, or Somali is a bonusPay TransparencyCentral Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $340,000 to $402,000.
