Obstetrics and Gynecology Consultant – Tier 1

Role SummaryThe Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology will provide comprehensive, evidence-based care in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of women's health conditions, pregnancy, childbirth, and gynecological disorders. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care while adhering to international clinical standards and organizational policies.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical DutiesProvide specialist obstetrics and gynecology consultations in outpatient, inpatient, labor, delivery, and emergency settings.Manage low-risk and high-risk pregnancies.Perform obstetric and gynecological surgical procedures independently.Lead antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care services.Diagnose and treat gynecological conditions, including complex cases.Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning.Ensure compliance with patient safety and quality standards.Academic & Professional ResponsibilitiesSupervise and mentor junior physicians and trainees.Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education (CME).Contribute to departmental development and implementation of clinical pathways and protocols.Engage in research and scholarly activities where applicable.Board Certification / Specialist QualificationCandidates must hold one of the following:American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG)Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (CCST/CCT – UK)Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG)Irish Specialist Register QualificationExperience RequirementsTier 1 ConsultantMinimum 3–5 years of post-board certification experience as a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology.Experience in a tertiary care hospital, academic medical center, or large teaching hospital preferred.Demonstrated experience managing high-risk obstetric cases.Strong surgical experience in both obstetrics and gynecology procedures.LicensureEligible for DOH Abu Dhabi Consultant License.Good standing certificate from current and previous licensing authorities.Preferred QualificationsFellowship training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Urogynecology, or Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery.Research publications and academic involvement.Experience in internationally accredited healthcare institutions.
