Job DescriptionMedical Director, Occupational Medicine for Centra HealthWorksWe are seeking a natural leader to help build HealthWorks growing employer-based healthcare service line as Medical Director.ResponsibilitiesThe Healthworks Medical Director, in collaboration with the Operational Director, functions as a Dyad Leader to provide clinical and operational guidance and leadership. Key roles and responsibilities include the delivery of high-quality clinical care across all Healthworks service lines, which include:Occupational Medicine and Wellness Services to Area Business and IndustryCentra’s Employee Health Hospital Based ClinicsHealthWorks Physical Therapy and Industrial RehabilitationEmployee Assistance ProgramsMedical oversite of Onsite Employer ClinicsCentra Medical Group (CMG) is a comprehensive network of nearly 600 employed providers within Centra Health. Centra Health services a population of 600,000 community members with 70 different outpatient and specialty practices. Centra offers primary care and specialty services across Central and Southern Virginia—from Lynchburg to Danville, Farmville, Moneta, and Bedford. Taxes and utility rates are very moderate, contributing to a low overall cost of living.Administratively RESPONSIBILITIES Supports, leads and models the vision, mission and values of Centra and HealthWorksProvides strategic system leadership for the HealthWorks service lineMay oversee and provide evidence-based process improvement recommendations to ensure safe high-quality care and support prevention effortsParticipates in the development of policies and guidelines meet occupational health goals.Participates in the Client/Employer relationship/marketing processesClinicallyProvides oversight for PAs and NPs.Directly participates in patient care and supervision:Occupational Medicine pre-employment, medical surveillance, qualification and exposure evaluations, audiometric reviews, return to work and fitness for duty visits, DOT examinations and Medical Review Officer duties. Workers’ compensation evaluations for work related illness and injuries, hazard evaluations, and medical oversight for Abbott Industry and Sweet Briar Student Health Clinic and Athletic Trainer.Nearsight Clinic Visits to provide episodic care to City WorkersYou Can ExpectMonday-Friday 8a – 5p; No Weekends, No Major Holidays16-20 hours patient facing and Medical Review Officer dutiesDigital Xray on siteComprehensive send out Labs and Point of Care TestingSign-on bonusHealth, dental and vision benefitsStudent loan repayment program$7,500 CME expensesUp to $15k relocation expensesQualificationsRequired QualificationsMD/DOBoard Certified/Eligible in Occupational Medicine or Emergency, Family, or Internal Medicine with experience in Occupational Medicine and Employee HealthMedical Review Officer (MRO) CertificationFMCSA DOT Medical Examiner CertificationPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of workers' compensation, DOT, OSHA and other applicable legislative regulations, Fitness for Duty and Independent medical Evaluations, employee health and exposure management.
