Apply & track with Apply EdgeGoAid is hiring Occupational Health Physicians (AFIH) for the Occupational Health Centres (OHCs) at the plants of a leading Indian cement group. You will run the plant OHC, keep the plant compliant on statutory health requirements, and lead the medical response to workplace emergencies.About the role
- Designation: Occupational Health Physician / Factory Medical Officer (AFIH)
- Openings: 21 across plant locations in multiple states
- Employment type: Full-time, on-site, on the client company's rolls. Stay accommodation provided at the plant.
- Working hours: General shift, plus on-call for medical emergencies (24x7)
- CTC: Rs 15 to 20 LPAEligibility (mandatory)
- MBBS from an NMC-recognised college
- Valid registration with the National Medical Commission or a State Medical Council
- Valid AFIH (Associate Fellow of Industrial Health) certificate from a DGFASLI-recognised institute
- 3 to 5 years of experience working in an Occupational Health Centre (OHC)Preferred
- OHC experience in cement, steel, mining, power or other heavy industry
- Valid BLS / ACLS certification
- Working knowledge of the Factories Act, 1948, State Factory Rules and, for mine sites, the Mines Act, 1952
- Comfortable with MS Excel and OHC health-record software
- Speaks the local language of the plant's stateKey responsibilitiesStatutory medical examinations
- Conduct pre-employment, periodic and exit medical examinations for employees and contract workers
- Carry out fitness assessments for high-risk roles: work at height, confined space, hot work, crane and heavy-vehicle operators, and drivers
- Interpret spirometry (PFT), audiometry, vision tests, ECG and chest X-rays for occupational disease
- Issue fitness certificates and maintain statutory health registers as required by the Factories Act and State Factory RulesOccupational disease prevention
- Screen workers exposed to cement and silica dust for lung disease, including early signs of silicosis
- Monitor noise-exposed workers through audiometry and recommend hearing protection
- Manage heat stress risk near kilns and coolers, and skin conditions such as cement dermatitis
- Advise the safety team on PPE, workplace health hazards and exposure controlsEmergency and clinical care
- Lead first response to injuries, burns, falls, heat stroke and cardiac events at the plant
- Stabilise patients and coordinate ambulance transfer to empanelled hospitals
- Treat routine illness and minor injuries at the OHC
- Plan and take part in medical emergency drills and mock drillsOHC management and compliance
- Keep medicines, consumables and emergency equipment stocked, in date and in working order
- Ensure biomedical waste is handled as per the Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016
- Support statutory inspections and ISO 45001 / internal health and safety audits
- Maintain injury, illness and absenteeism records and submit a monthly OHC MIS reportHealth promotion and training
- Train first aiders and supervisors in first aid and CPR
- Run health camps, lifestyle disease screening (BP, diabetes) and awareness sessions
- Manage return-to-work assessments after illness or injuryKey skills
