Ocean Freight Manager | Dallas, Texas | Salary up to $105,000This is a key management position for an experienced freight forwarding professional with a strong background in ocean import and export operations, team leadership, customer service, and operational performance.The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring shipments are handled efficiently from A-Z while leading the ocean operations team and maintaining strong relationships with customers, carriers, overseas offices, and service providers.What's on OfferSalary up to $105,000Opportunity to join an established international freight forwarding companyManagement-level position with significant responsibilityOpportunity to lead and develop an experienced ocean freight teamCareer progression within a growing global organizationProfessional and fast-paced working environmentKey ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee the day-to-day ocean freight operations across import and export shipmentsLead, motivate, and develop the ocean operations teamManage the full shipment lifecycle from booking through to final delivery and billingOversee ocean bookings, documentation, tracking, arrival notices, delivery coordination, and invoicingEnsure shipments are handled accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with customer requirementsMonitor shipment exceptions and proactively resolve operational issuesDevelop and maintain strong relationships with steamship lines, NVOCCs, trucking companies, overseas agents, and customersNegotiate and manage ocean freight rates and service levels where requiredMonitor operational KPIs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitabilityWork closely with sales and pricing teams to support customer quotations and new business opportunitiesAssist with customer escalations and provide solutions to complex operational issuesEnsure compliance with company policies, customs requirements, and international shipping regulationsSupport the implementation and improvement of operational processes and proceduresProvide management with regular updates on operational performance, staffing, and key issuesRequirements5+ years of ocean freight forwarding experiencePrevious experience in an ocean operations management or supervisory roleStrong knowledge of ocean import and export processesProven experience managing and developing an operations teamStrong understanding of international freight forwarding procedures and documentationExperience working with steamship lines, NVOCCs, trucking providers, and overseas agentsStrong customer service and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and organizational abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced freight forwarding environmentExperience with CargoWise or a similar freight forwarding system is highly preferredStrong knowledge of U.S. import/export requirements and ocean freight documentation
