Ocean Import CoordinatorLocation: Jamaica, NYJob Type: Full-TimeSalary: $65,000 - $70,000Company OverviewAltius Talent is partnering with a growing international freight forwarding and logistics provider to find an experienced Ocean Import Coordinator to join their team in the Jamaica, NY area.Position OverviewThe Ocean Import Coordinator will manage the end-to-end coordination of ocean import shipments, ensuring smooth cargo flow from origin through customs clearance to final delivery. This role requires strong attention to detail, a solid grasp of import compliance, and the ability to manage multiple shipments and client accounts simultaneously.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and manage ocean import shipments from booking through final deliveryPrepare and review import documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing listsLiaise with customs brokers to ensure timely and compliant clearance of shipmentsTrack shipments and proactively communicate status updates to clients and internal stakeholdersResolve shipment discrepancies, delays, and exceptions in a timely mannerMaintain accurate records in the freight management systemBuild and maintain strong working relationships with shipping lines, overseas agents, and trucking/haulage providersEnsure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and import requirementsSupport invoicing and billing accuracy for assigned accountsKey Skills & QualificationsProven experience in ocean import operations within freight forwarding or logisticsStrong working knowledge of import documentation, ISF filing, and U.S. customs clearance processesFamiliarity with freight forwarding software/TMS platformsExcellent organizational and multitasking abilitiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentPrior experience working with NVOCC or ocean carriers preferredWhat's on OfferCompetitive salary ($65,000 - $70,000)Opportunity to join a growing, well-established logistics providerCollaborative team environmentRoom for professional growth within the organizationInterested candidates should apply directly or reach out to Altius Talent for more information.
