MJ Test Prep fosters a focused, academic environment where both instructors and staff support sustained, skill-based learning rather than quick fixes or shortcuts.MJ Test Prep is seeking a full-time Office Associate – Education & Student Support who is organized, personable, and genuinely passionate about education and student growth.This is much more than a traditional front-desk position. The person in this role will be an important part of supporting our students, families, tutors, and educational programs. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with students, takes initiative, and notices when a student may need additional help or is beginning to fall behind.A key part of the position is monitoring student progress and helping students stay on track with their assignments and preparation. This includes reviewing homework completion, following up on missing assignments, helping students understand missed questions, assisting them with corrections or retaking difficult sections of a test, and finding other ways to help students stay engaged and make progress.The Office Associate will also assist with curriculum and educational material development. This may include reviewing worksheets for accuracy and helping make challenging concepts more approachable, student-friendly, and engaging while maintaining the level of rigor necessary for significant score improvement.In addition, the Office Associate supports the daily operations of MJ Test Prep by managing front-desk activities, greeting students and families, answering questions in person, by phone, and by email, coordinating tutoring appointments, maintaining schedules and class rosters, and assisting with registrations and payments.Other responsibilities include organizing student materials, maintaining accurate student records, assisting with basic bookkeeping and administrative tasks, communicating with tutors regarding student needs, and helping the office run smoothly in a busy, student-centered environment.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor student homework, assignments, practice tests, and overall progress.Follow up with students who are falling behind or have incomplete work.Provide basic academic support, including helping students review missed questions, complete corrections, or retake challenging test sections.Support the development and improvement of worksheets, curriculum, and other educational materials.Help make difficult academic material clear, approachable, and engaging for students.Communicate professionally and warmly with students, parents, tutors, and staff.Manage tutoring schedules, class rosters, registrations, and appointment changes.Greet and assist students and families at the office.Respond to phone calls and emails and help resolve day-to-day questions.Maintain accurate student records and organize educational materials.Assist with payment processing and basic bookkeeping responsibilities.Support tutors with scheduling, materials, student follow-up, and other administrative needs.Take initiative in identifying ways we can better support individual students.Assist with other office and educational projects as needed.QualificationsBachelor's degree required in education.Experience in education, tutoring, teaching, academic advising, or student support is highly beneficial.Genuine interest in working with high school students and helping them succeed.Strong communication and customer service skills.Ability to explain information clearly and patiently to students.Strong organizational and administrative skills.Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow through on responsibilities.Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.Basic accounting or bookkeeping skills are helpful.Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, scheduling software, and standard office technology, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.Reliable, proactive, and willing to take ownership rather than waiting to be asked what needs to be done.Ability to work on-site at our Bryn Mawr and Chestnut Hill locations, including afternoons and some evenings and weekends.The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate enjoys both education and organization. You may be helping a parent with a scheduling question one moment and sitting with a student who needs help understanding why they missed several questions the next.We are looking for someone who cares about students and pays attention to their progress.
