Company Description The Islamic Association of Raleigh (IAR), founded near NC State University in the early 1980s, is one of the oldest mosques in the Triangle region and has grown into a central religious and community hub for thousands of Muslims in the Raleigh-Durham area. Serving as a mosque, school, and gathering place for the Muslim community, IAR hosts over three thousand congregants every Friday. The organization provides a wide range of services, including welfare support, community outreach, and social events. It hosts various programs rooted in authentic Islamic tradition and supports individuals and families at various life stages. The Islamic Association of Raleigh values community engagement, service, and collaboration among staff, volunteers, and congregants.Role Description The Office Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Raleigh, NC, responsible for overseeing daily office operations and ensuring a welcoming and organized environment. This role includes coordinating administrative tasks, managing office supplies and equipment, maintaining organized filing systems, and overseeing the IAR calendar, schedules, meetings, and appointments. The Office Manager serves as a primary point of contact for visitors, congregants, and external partners — receiving community members and responding to inquiries in person, by phone, and by email, and directing them to the appropriate person, official, or committee.Working directly with the CEO and Treasurer, the Office Manager attends Administration team meetings, takes minutes, and helps resolve day-to-day operational issues. The role includes preparing monthly and annual reports for committees and meetings such as Elections and General Body meetings, drafting official IAR correspondence (Employment Verification, New Muslim, and Community Service letters), and managing the organization's property and liability insurance, including renewals.On the bookkeeping side, the Office Manager maintains IAR's accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions, prepares financial reports summarizing account information and trends, and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements. The role also supervises administrative staff who issue checks, enter deposits into the accounting system, and maintain room reservations — working closely with the CEO, Treasurer, and Finance Chairperson as needed.In support of the Shura, the Office Manager organizes and distributes meeting notices and materials, maintains organizational files including by-laws, minutes, and policies, and supports the membership team during Shura and ICC elections. The Office Manager also helps direct planning for community events such as the annual picnic, Eid celebrations, and fundraisers, and assists the CEO and IAR Chair with special projects as needed.The Office Manager is expected to maintain confidentiality, uphold professional standards, and contribute to efficient, respectful, and inclusive office practices.QualificationsAssociate degree in Business Administration, accounting, finance or equivalentPrevious administrative or office experiencePrevious experience with bookkeeping software Extensive knowledge of office management procedures.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and TeamsExcellent Islamic character, and a commitment to maintain confidentiality of private and sensitive information.Ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced environmentAbility to be trained and acquire new skillsAbility to supervise othersSome weekend and evening hours may be required as services and meetings dictateCompensation: Compensation is commensurate with experience. The employee will be an exempt employee. IAR Personnel policy governs work conditions and benefits.
