The Opportunity. We are a well-established oral surgery practice serving Scottsdale and Sedona, dedicated to providing exceptional patient care while building a strong, collaborative team. We are seeking an experienced Office Manager who is excited to take an active leadership role in the practice—supporting and developing our team, overseeing day-to-day operations, and partnering closely with the surgeon to strengthen systems, improve processes, and help guide the continued growth of the practice.Our full-time schedule is designed to support a positive, team-focused environment. Typical hours are as follows: Mondays are a shorter, four-hour workday, with scheduled hours falling between 7:00 am and 2:00 pm, depending on practice needs and the surgical schedule. Wednesday and Thursday hours are 7:00 am–4:30 pm, and Friday hours are 7:30 am–2:00 pm, with patient care scheduled in our Scottsdale office three days per week.Tuesdays are dedicated to our Sedona location, with the team traveling together for a full day from approximately 5:30 am–6:30 pm. As our Office Manager, you’ll be a key leader within the practice, overseeing the day-to-day operations, supporting and developing the team, and partnering closely with the surgeon to create an efficient, positive environment for both patients and staff. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Lead and develop the practice team – Provide day-to-day leadership for the clinical and administrative teams, establish clear performance expectations, promote accountability, and foster a positive, collaborative work environment.Manage staff performance and employee relations – Serve as the primary liaison between the surgeon and team, address employee concerns and conflicts, provide coaching and feedback, and participate in performance evaluations and disciplinary discussions when necessary.Oversee staffing, scheduling, and recruitment – Develop staff schedules, manage time-off requests and call-outs, identify staffing needs, and lead recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and new-hire onboarding efforts.Drive training and operational consistency – Develop and maintain structured training programs and standard operating procedures, oversee team training, conduct staff meetings, and ensure employees have the knowledge and resources needed to perform their roles successfully.Manage day-to-day practice operations – Oversee administrative and clinical workflows, troubleshoot operational challenges, maintain an organized and professional practice environment, and step in to support the team when needed to ensure efficient patient care.Maintain compliance and practice standards – Ensure the practice remains compliant with OSHA, HIPAA, cybersecurity, employment, and other applicable regulatory requirements and coordinate required staff and emergency-protocol training.Partner with the surgeon on practice growth and business operations – Collaborate with the surgeon on strategic initiatives, process improvements, team development, marketing and referral growth, and, as the practice expands, assume increasing responsibility for financial and business operations.**Please note: Prior experience in a dental or oral surgery setting is required.QualificationsRequired Skills for this Role:Strong leadership and team development skills Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills Proven ability to manage staff performance and accountability Strong organizational and operational management skills Strategic thinking and problem-solving ability Knowledge of dental practice compliance and regulatory requirements Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and practice management technologyExperience and Education Minimum Requirements:Associate’s degree or higher required; Bachelor’s degree preferred Minimum of 5 years of management or leadership experience in a dental practice setting Prior dental experience is required; oral surgery experience strongly preferred Demonstrated experience supervising, training, and managing staff performance Experience with practice operations, scheduling, compliance, and patient service coordination requiredNOTE: Applications, resumes, and inquiries will only be accepted through this job advertisement.
