Our mission is to advance equality and justice for American Muslim organizations and individuals by combating the injustices done in the name of national security.JOB SUMMARYThe Office / People Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing office operations and administering day-to-day human resources functions for the organization. This role serves as a key partner to the CEO, ensuring that people operations, workplace practices, and administrative systems support MLFA’s mission, values, and compliance obligations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following reflects the essential duties for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.Office & Administrative OperationsEnsure the smooth day-to-day operation of the office, including facilities, supplies, vendors, and administrative systemsOversee office technology, records management, and workflow processesMaintain organized and secure employee and administrative recordsCoordinate office logistics, schedules, and internal communicationsIdentify operational issues and escalate concerns to the CEO as appropriateHuman Resources AdministrationAdminister HR processes including onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and employee recordsServe as the primary point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and workplace proceduresSupport recruitment efforts, including job postings, interview coordination, and new hire orientationAssist managers with performance management processes, documentation, and employee development supportCoordinate training initiatives, including compliance and workplace educationCompliance & Employee RelationsSupport compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulationsAssist with updating and implementing personnel policies and proceduresSupport intake and coordination of employee concerns in partnership with leadership and external advisors, as appropriatePromote a respectful, inclusive, and professional workplace culture aligned with MLFA’s valuesLeadership & Organizational SupportPartner with the CEO on people operations planning and administrative prioritiesServe as a steward of MLFA’s culture by partnering with leaders and employees to foster an engaged, inclusive, and values-driven workplacePlan and support staff meetings and internal communicationsRepresent MLFA’s mission and values in daily operations and interactionsEXPERIENCE - EDUCATIONBachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Human Resources preferredMinimum of 3 years of office management experience in the nonprofit sectorExperience with recruitment, onboarding, and training employeesKnowledge of employment laws and HR best practicesProficiency with Microsoft OfficeGeneral knowledge of employment and safety laws and regulationsWORK ENVIRONMENTIndoor office setting with occasional outdoor exposureFrequent use of computer, keyboard, and mouseModerate noise levelsOccasional travel (less than 20% of the time)Compensation: $70-75KWork arrangement: in office in RichardsonBENEFITSPTOMedicalDentalVision
