Oil Market Maker Location: Dubai, UAE (on-site)Company: Small, well-capitalised energy trading firmCompensation: $Excellent tax-free competitive base + performance bonus + benefits (visa, medical, etc.)About the roleThey are a boutique energy trading company based in Dubai with an active presence across global fuel oil markets. They are looking for a Oil Market Maker with 3–10 years’ experience to help build and scale their fuel oil franchise. You will be responsible for two-way pricing, trading, and risk management across fuel oil products, working closely with senior traders, operations, and risk to grow a profitable, well-controlled book.Key responsibilitiesProvide competitive two-way prices in fuel oil (HSFO, VLSFO, LSFO) across tenors and key hubs (e.g., Singapore, Med, ARA, Middle East).Manage a trading book including physical cargoes/term deals and hedging via swaps, futures, and options.Identify and execute arbitrage and spread opportunities (time, location, product) aligned with market flows and fundamentals.Build and maintain relationships with refiners, traders, bunker suppliers, shipowners, and brokers across the region.Work with operations and logistics on freight, storage, blending, laycan, demurrage, and delivery execution.Monitor market trends, regulatory changes (e.g., IMO), and supply/demand dynamics to inform strategy.Trade within agreed risk limits, produce clear P&L reporting, and escalate issues promptly.Ensure compliance with internal policies, sanctions, KYC, and applicable laws.What we’re looking forA minimum of 2 years’ experience in commodity trading or brokerage, with clear market-making or two-way pricing responsibility.Proven track record managing a physical + paper oil book (or strong exposure to both).Deep understanding of oil specifications, benchmarks, and regional markets (Singapore, Med, ARA, Middle East).Strong grasp of logistics and operations: storage, freight, blending, cargo operations, claims.Comfortable using swaps, futures, options, and basis/time spreads to hedge and structure trades.Quantifiable achievements (e.g., volumes, P&L, liquidity metrics) are a plus.Excellent English communication; Arabic or other regional languages are a bonus.Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable in a small, fast-moving team with high ownership.Why join?Direct P&L ownership and real influence on the firm’s growth strategy.Exposure to a global book with support from experienced senior traders.Competitive compensation package with significant upside linked to performance.Opportunity to help build a franchise in a growing, agile trading house in Dubai.How to applyPlease send your CV and a brief note outlining:Your oil market-making/trading experience (products, regions, type of book).A couple of quantifiable achievements (volumes, P&L, or key deals).Compensation & BenefitsHighly attractive tax-free salary plus excellent (high percentage) performance-based bonus structure linked to individual and desk P&L.
