Oil Trading Head of IT – Dubai BasedRapidly growing trading arm of state owned oil major seeks a Head of Information Technology to join and grow their Dubai HQ and help with the continued growth of the trading technology teams across their Dubai, Geneva and Singapore offices.THE ROLEThis is a Dubai based role, working 5 days per week from their amazing offices in DIFC in Dubai, so please only apply if you are already based in Dubai or keen to relocate to Dubai for this opportunity. My client will assist with your relocation, manage and pay for your and family Emirates ID Visas, help set up bank accounts and make the relocation easy.This is a permanent role looking for someone keen on a long term career move, based from Dubai. The permanent salary is open and will be tax free (as all roles are in the UAE), but this is not looking for a very very senior Head of IT, as this is a hands-on Head of IT role, which will grow with the role and as you build out your IT team in Dubai, Singapore and Geneva.You will join an oil trading business, currently trading Refined Products, Crude and LNG, but with big plans to expand into other energy products, namely Natural Gas and Power. This is a new role, taking over the Head of IT responsibilities from their General Manager, allowing the business to continue to grow their commercial and technology capabilities. Joining initially to take over the existing trading technology set up, the company has big plans for growing their IT business including selecting and implementing a new ETRM.This role will hold full IT accountability and you will be the Global Leader of IT, generating and executing the business’ IT strategy aligned with business objectives. You will join the senior leadership team, so hold a bigger role in helping the company to grow, being a senior leader in the Dubai office.KEY EXPERIENCE10 years+ IT experience with 5 years+ in IT Manager and Head of IT roles, leading and growing trading technology teams, setting and implementing IT strategy.It is essential that you come from a strong Oil Trading Technology background.As you will join an established but still growing oil trading business with new offices in Geneva and Singapore, this role needs a Head of IT who is hands-on, understands technology and isn’t afraid to “get their hands dirty”.You will have a deep understanding of technology, probably starting your career as an IT Support Engineer, Systems Administrator, or Network Engineer, moving up to Infrastructure Manager, and then Head of IT. Alternatively you could have started as a Software Developer, DevOps Engineer, or Database Administrator, transitioning into technical project management, and eventually pivoting into department leadership. It is important that you have gained 10 years+ solid IT experience before moving into IT leadership, possibly as an IT Manager so you have the strong technical background coupled with leadership skills needed for this role.As well as a strong techie background, you’ll have moved into a Head of IT or related role, so have the experience to take a rapidly growing oil trading business to the next level.For more information, please e-mail through an up-to-date copy of your CV to Ben at jobsBR@bramwith.com
