Apply & track with Apply EdgeWe are working with a specialist engineering and industrial services business to identify an experienced On-Site Machinist for its operation in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist with a strong background in on-site/field machining, precision machining and industrial equipment repair, looking to work on projects across major industrial facilities in Saudi Arabia.DutiesThe On-Site Machinist will be responsible for carrying out precision machining activities both at customer sites and within the workshop.You will work on industrial equipment and components, carrying out machining, repair, modification and restoration work to the required engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances.The role will involve working at industrial plants, refineries, power stations, customer facilities and other project locations, so previous field-based experience is essential.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out on-site and workshop machining activities including boring, milling, grinding and drilling.Set up and operate portable machining equipment at customer locations.Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances.Inspect components and determine the appropriate machining or repair requirements.Carry out precision machining and fabrication of components for valves, pumps, compressors, gears and other industrial equipment.Align equipment for boring, grinding and milling operations.Support repair, modification and restoration of mechanical components.Carry out TIG welding and associated fabrication activities where required.Assemble components using hand and power tools.Inspect finished work and ensure dimensions and quality requirements are met.Record machining processes, materials, consumables, inspections and completed work.Provide technical updates and feedback to the Project Manager / Supervisor.Work safely and in accordance with customer and company HSE requirements.The successful candidate will have:Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in on-site / field machining.Previous experience in precision machining, portable machining or industrial equipment maintenance.Strong practical experience with boring, milling, grinding and drilling.The ability to interpret engineering drawings and machining tolerances.Experience working on industrial equipment such as valves, pumps, compressors, gears or similar machinery.Experience working in refineries, petrochemical plants, power plants or other heavy industrial environments is highly desirable.Experience with machine alignment and field-based machining activities.TIG welding/fabrication experience would be advantageous.Technical Diploma, vocational qualification or equivalent mechanical/machining training.Ability to work independently at customer sites and as part of a project team.Strong commitment to safety and quality.Valid site safety certifications would be advantageous.The PackageCompetitive basic salaryAccommodation allowanceTransport allowanceAnnual leave and other company benefitsIf you have genuine hands-on on-site machining experience and are interested in discussing the opportunity, please apply with your CV.Please note: Candidates without genuine on-site/field machining experience are unlikely to be suitable for this position.
