This full-time, on-site role involves preparing the OT before surgeries, including cleaning, sterilizing instruments, arranging equipment, and ensuring availability of required consumables. The assistant helps in patient preparation, assists the surgical and nursing team with positioning, draping, and intraoperative needs, and follows strict infection control and safety protocols. Daily responsibilities also include proper documentation of OT activities, handling and care of surgical instruments and machines, and coordinating with clinical and administrative staff to maintain smooth workflow. The role requires adherence to hospital policies, participation in training, and active contribution to a hygienic and patient-centered environment.Qualifications Strong understanding of operation theatre procedures, sterile techniques, and infection control practices.Ability to handle and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and OT supplies safely and efficiently.Experience in assisting clinical staff with patient preparation, positioning, and basic perioperative support.Attention to detail for maintaining OT cleanliness, following safety protocols, and completing basic documentation.Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and support staff.Willingness to work in a fast-paced surgical environment with a patient-focused approach and professional conduct.Preferred: OT Technician or OT Assistant diploma/certification, or relevant hospital/clinical experience.Preferred: Experience in ophthalmic or eye-care settings and familiarity with eye-specific procedures and equipment.Experience:Candidate must have 2-3 years of experience in Cataract Surgery.
