The role involves preparing the operation theatre before procedures, including setting up instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies in accordance with infection control and safety protocols. The professional will assist surgeons and anesthetists during surgeries, manage surgical instruments, and support intraoperative monitoring as per clinical guidelines. Daily responsibilities include maintaining aseptic conditions, checking and calibrating equipment, documenting procedures and consumables used, and ensuring timely sterilization and replenishment of OT supplies. The role also requires coordinating with nursing staff, surgeons, and administrative teams to ensure smooth scheduling, efficient workflow, and patient-centered care before and after surgical procedures.Qualifications Formal nursing or operation theatre technician qualification (e.g., GNM, B.Sc. Nursing, Diploma in OT Technology) from a recognized institution.Hands-on experience in an operation theatre environment, including instrument handling, aseptic techniques, and support during minor and major surgeries.Strong understanding of infection control practices, sterilization procedures, and safe handling of medical equipment and supplies.Ability to monitor patients in coordination with the surgical and anesthesia teams, with attention to safety, comfort, and confidentiality.Effective communication skills, teamwork orientation, and the ability to follow clinical protocols and instructions precisely.Basic computer literacy for recording procedures, maintaining logs, and supporting hospital information systems.Willingness to work in rotating shifts, handle emergency cases, and adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment.Prior experience in a multi-specialty hospital or diagnostic and healthcare setting in India is an advantage.
