Operation Theatre - Senior Nurse

Job SummaryThe Operating Theatre Nurse is responsible for providing safe and effective perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing plastic surgery, general surgery, and orthopedic procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare the operating theatre, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before procedures.Assist surgeons as a scrub nurse and/or circulating nurse during surgical procedures.Maintain sterile techniques, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols.Verify patient identity, surgical consent, and preoperative documentation.Perform and document surgical instrument, needle, and sponge counts.Assist with plastic surgery, general surgery, and orthopedic procedures.Ensure proper patient positioning, handling of surgical specimens, and implant management where applicable.Provide safe patient transfer and handover to the recovery team.Maintain accurate nursing records and ensure proper cleaning and preparation of the operating theatre.Comply with facility policies, professional nursing standards, and applicable health authority regulations.Qualifications & ExperienceDiploma or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.Valid DHA licence.Previous operating theatre experience, preferably in a surgical clinic or day surgery centre or hospitals.Demonstrated experience in plastic surgery, general surgery, and orthopedic procedures.Knowledge of surgical instruments, aseptic techniques, infection control, and perioperative patient care.Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
