Position: Operation Theater Technician (OTT) Department: Operation Theater (OT) Location: Naeem Hospital – Punjab Society / Ghazi Road Branch, Lahore Reports To: OT Incharge / Medical SuperintendentJob SummaryThe Operation Theater Technician (OTT) is responsible for assisting surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff before, during, and after surgical procedures. The incumbent will ensure proper preparation of the operation theater, sterilization of instruments, maintenance of OT equipment, and adherence to infection control standards to support safe and efficient surgical operations.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare operation theaters before surgical procedures.Arrange and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.Assist surgeons and OT nurses during surgical procedures.Prepare patients for surgery as directed by the medical team.Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.Operate and monitor OT equipment and report any malfunction immediately.Ensure proper handling, cleaning, and storage of surgical instruments.Assist in shifting patients to and from the operation theater.Maintain OT records, inventory, and surgical consumables.Coordinate with CSSD, nursing, and anesthesia teams for smooth surgical operations.Ensure availability of emergency equipment and supplies at all times.Follow hospital safety policies and quality standards.Perform any other duties assigned by management related to OT operations.Qualifications & ExperienceDiploma in Operation Theater Technology (OTT) from a recognized institution.Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in a hospital operation theater.Knowledge of sterilization procedures, surgical instruments, and infection control practices.Ability to work in emergency and high-pressure environments.Good communication and teamwork skills.Skills RequiredOT setup and managementInstrument sterilization and handlingInfection prevention and controlSurgical assistanceEquipment operation and maintenancePatient handling and safetyRecord keeping and inventory management
