The Operations Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and execution of Sports Salt Lake events and servicing activities. Working closely with the Director of Operations, this position aids in event logistics, client services, operational systems, reporting, partner relationships, and event execution while ensuring Sports Salt Lake consistently delivers exceptional experiences for event owners, participants, spectators, and community stakeholders.The Operations Coordinator serves as a key support position that helps ensure clients receive exceptional service while maintaining accurate records, operational systems, and event-related communications.Primary ResponsibilitiesAssist with operations for Sports Salt Lake's portfolio of sporting events.Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality client services and event support needs from the perspective of Visit Salt Lake.Serve as the operational contact for event owners post contracting until completion of the event.Additional duties could involve venue coordination, transportation plans, credentialing, volunteer programs, hospitality initiatives, and event logistics.Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and customer service excellence through repeatable and systematic servicing standards.Evaluate event outcomes and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement.Collaborate with hospitality partners to ensure a seamless attendee experience leading up to and during event.Assist the Director of Operations on managing operational budgets for assigned events.Track expenses and ensure responsible stewardship of organizational resources.Assist in evaluating event servicing investments and operational expenditures.Oversee collection of event metrics, attendee information, and post-event evaluations.Utilize industry tools including the Destinations International Event Impact Calculator to assess economic impact.Prepare post-event reports and presentations for clients, community stakeholders, elected officials, and Visit Salt Lake leadership.Maintain operational oversight of client servicing activities within Simpleview CRM.Ensure operational records, event files, and service documentation are maintained accurately.Represent Sports Salt Lake in the community and at industry events.Serve as an ambassador for Visit Salt Lake and Sports Salt Lake.Perform other duties as assigned to support Sports Salt Lake initiatives and organizational goals.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Hospitality, Event Management, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred.1–3 years of experience in event management, sports, hospitality, tourism, or a related field.Experience supporting the planning and execution of events, preferably sporting events or large-scale events.Strong organizational and project management skills with excellent attention to detail.Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM or event management software preferred.Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems, and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and travel as required for events.Benefits PackageInsurance: medical, dental, vision, life, long-term disability. 401(k) plan, Vacation, Sick, Personal Days, and major holidays PTO.ApplicationVisit Salt Lake is an equal opportunity employer.
