Role Description This part-time hybrid role, based in Abu Dhabi, combines on-site collaboration with flexibility for some work from home. The Operations Excellence Manager / Operations Executive / Account Manager will oversee day-to-day operational workflows for the journal, ensuring timely and efficient handling of submissions, peer-review processes, and author communications. Responsibilities include coordinating with editorial and production teams, monitoring key performance indicators, and implementing process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency. The role also involves managing stakeholder relationships, supporting project planning, and maintaining documentation and reports to track progress and resolve operational issues. The successful candidate will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement while supporting the journal’s mission to advance methodological innovation.QualificationsOperational management and process improvement skills, including experience optimizing workflows, setting timelines, and monitoring performance metrics.Project coordination and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks, manage priorities, and maintain accurate documentation and reports.Stakeholder and account management abilities, with experience building relationships, handling inquiries, and supporting authors, editors, and partners.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify operational challenges, interpret data, and recommend practical solutions.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate clearly across cross-functional and international teams.Proficiency with office productivity tools and collaborative platforms (e.g., spreadsheets, project management software, and online communication tools).Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, demonstrating self-management, reliability, and collaboration in both remote and on-site environments.Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business, operations management, communications, or a related discipline; experience in academic publishing or research environments is an advantage.
