We're searching for an Operations Manager, Field Services (Field Service Manager) to lead and develop a team of roughly 15 field technicians, including a Team Leader, acting as an owner of their service business within the organization. This is a people-leadership role first: the ideal candidate builds culture, empowers autonomy, and drives results, spending roughly 80% of their time in the field and 20% from home or office.ResponsibilitiesLead, coach, and develop a team of ~15 field technicians, including a Team Leader (a second Team Leader hire is planned).Build an ownership mentality across the team — technicians who take responsibility for their territory and accounts.Support technicians in the field with tools and local support, and assist with service dispatch as needed.Prioritize people-leadership and team development over hands-on mechanical work.Build and reinforce an engaged, empowered team culture.Deliver a strong customer experience and drive measurable results across the territory.Operate with a forward-thinking, tactical mindset.Act as an owner of the service business within the organization.QualificationsProven people-leadership experience, building, coaching, and empowering teams, valued above technical or mechanical aptitude.Comfortable running your own desk with autonomy and minimal oversight.Forward-thinking, tactical, and results-driven.Background leading teams in any service-oriented industry welcome; open to candidates from outside material handling.Based in, or willing to be based in, the Richmond/Ashland, VA area, with the ability to travel locally/regionally.Compensation & LocationSalary: $80,000–$85,000 base + Bonus.Benefits: company vehicle with gas card and expense card; full benefits packet available on request.Location: Richmond/Ashland, VA — hybrid, approximately 80% field / 20% home or office.Henry North, on behalf of our client, is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
