The supermarket continues to grow as a trusted place for everyday shopping within the community.Role Description The Operations Manager at Select Mart for Central Food Market is responsible for overseeing daily store operations, ensuring smooth workflow across departments, and maintaining high service standards. This full-time, on-site role based in Kuwait City includes supervising staff, managing schedules, monitoring inventory levels, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure product availability and quality. The role involves implementing operational policies, tracking sales performance, and optimizing store layout and processes to enhance the customer experience. The Operations Manager will also handle basic budgeting and cost control, support recruitment and training, and ensure adherence to health, safety, and food hygiene regulations. Regular reporting to senior management and collaboration with other teams to drive continuous improvement are key aspects of the position.Qualifications Experience in retail or supermarket operations, including staff supervision, inventory management, and supplier coordination.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.Proficiency in store performance monitoring, basic budgeting, and cost control to support efficient, profitable operations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for leading diverse teams and delivering consistent, customer-focused service.Knowledge of health, safety, and food hygiene standards relevant to supermarket and food retail environments.Comfort with using POS systems and basic office software (e.g., spreadsheets, email, inventory or ERP tools).Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to make practical, data-informed decisions under time constraints.Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a supermarket or retail chain in Kuwait or the region is an advantage.
