Employment Type: Full-TimeAboutTAKON Talent is partnering with a growing residential services company on Long Island to identify an experienced Operations Manager / Service Manager to lead its day-to-day service operation.This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to run a busy field service organization.

The ideal candidate has managed technicians and service teams in a blue-collar, residential service environment such as pools, HVAC, plumbing, pest control, electrical, roofing, landscaping, or a similar trade.Industry-specific pool experience is a plus, but it is not required. We are more interested in finding a proven service leader who understands scheduling, dispatch, technician productivity, customer service, accountability, and how to keep a field operation running efficiently.This position reports into local leadership and will take ownership of the service department's daily execution.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the day-to-day operations of the service departmentManage, coach, and develop field service technicians and support personnelOversee scheduling, dispatch, workload distribution, and technician utilizationEnsure jobs are completed on time and to established quality standardsTrack key service metrics including technician productivity, response times, job completion, and customer satisfactionBuild accountability across the service team and address performance issues when necessaryImprove processes, workflows, SOPs, and operating standardsCoordinate with sales, construction, office, and other internal teams to ensure smooth handoffsHelp recruit, onboard, train, and retain high-performing service employeesResolve escalated customer issues professionally and efficientlyEnsure field work meets company standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulationsSupport continued growth by building a scalable, disciplined service operationWhat We're Looking For5+ years of operations, field service, or service management experience preferredPrevious leadership experience managing technicians or other field-based employeesResidential or commercial service industry experience strongly preferredExperience in pools, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pest control, roofing, landscaping, home services, or another field-service environment is highly relevantStrong understanding of scheduling, dispatch, technician utilization, and field productivityExperience working with CRM, dispatch, or field service management systems; ServiceTitan experience is a plusStrong leadership and communication skillsHighly organized and comfortable managing a fast-moving operation with many moving partsAbility to use data and KPIs to identify problems and improve performanceStrong customer-service mindset with the ability to handle escalationsComfortable holding teams accountable while maintaining a positive cultureExperience is valued more heavily than a specific degree for this position.The Ideal CandidateYou may be a strong fit if you've spent your career around technicians, crews, trucks, customers, schedules, and service calls — and you understand what it takes to make all of those pieces work together.We're particularly interested in leaders who have successfully run a service department or significant portion of a field service operation and can bring structure, accountability, and strong people leadership to a growing organization.Compensation & Benefits$120,000–$150,000 base salaryPerformance-based bonus opportunityHealth benefitsPaid vacation and sick leave401(k) with company matchProfessional growth and advancement opportunitiesRelocation assistance available for the right candidateThis is an opportunity to take ownership of a substantial service operation in a growing organization and have a direct impact on team performance, customer experience, and operational results.
