This position enforces strict Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC), maintains regulatory emission compliance, optimizes chemical dosing and fuel consumption, and guarantees safe containment and destruction of hazardous, toxic, and complex industrial waste streams.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Process Management
- Direct operations of high-temperature incinerators, including rotary kiln, static hearth, and liquid injection systems, and ensure the required destruction and removal efficiency (DRE ≥ 99.99%).
- Oversee Flue Gas Cleaning Systems (FGCS), including dry/semi-dry scrubbers, baghouse fabric filters, and activated carbon, to control acid gases, dioxins, and heavy metals.
- Monitor Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) 24/7 to guarantee zero exceedances for SO₂, NOₓ, HCl, HF, CO, particulate matter, and TOC.
- Optimize burner efficiency, fuel/gas-to-waste blending ratios, and waste feed rates based on calorific value (LHV/HHV), moisture, halogen, and ash content.Waste Acceptance, Compatibility & Material Handling
- Enforce chemical compatibility protocols to prevent exothermic reactions, polymerizations, or hazardous gas evolution (H₂S, HCN, Cl₂) in storage tanks, pits, and blend bays.
- Review incoming waste characterization, analytical profiles, and manifests against plant operating licenses and storage permit limits.
- Manage hazardous residues, including secure collection, handling, and compliant transfer/landfilling of bottom slag and fly ash/Air Pollution Control Residues (APCR).Maintenance & Asset Integrity
- Collaborate with the engineering team to plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for optical sorters, shredders, trommels, conveyors, balers, and thermal boilers.
- Minimize unplanned downtime to preserve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and plant availability.
- Oversee critical spare parts inventory and service-level agreements (SLAs) with technology vendors.People Leadership
