Our activities span retail food products, health and beauty care, household products, and other FMCG categories.We operate in diverse markets and work closely with distributors, manufacturers, retailers, and logistics partners around the world.The RoleReporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for managing most day-to-day operations while also supporting commercial development across our target markets.This position requires a hands-on professional capable of working independently, making decisions, solving problems, and driving results with limited supervision.As the company's senior U.S.-based representative, you must be comfortable operating autonomously and taking ownership of both operational and commercial responsibilities.Key ResponsibilitiesMarket DevelopmentSupport the growth of existing distributor networks.Identify and develop new business opportunities in French-speaking Africa, Central America, and the Caribbean.Maintain strong relationships with distributors, key accounts, suppliers, and service providers.Conduct market research and recommend expansion strategies.Participate in international trade shows, customer visits.Operations & Supply ChainCoordinate imports, exports, and international logistics.Oversee shipping documentation, customs compliance, and freight forwarding activities.Negotiate transportation, warehousing, and logistics contracts.Ensure smooth execution of customer orders from purchase order through delivery.Manage supplier relationships and monitor supply chain performance.Resolve operational issues before they impact customers or profitability.Commercial & Administrative ManagementMonitor profitability and commercial performance.Prepare forecasts, budgets, and operational reports.Resolve customer service issues, claims, and logistics challenges.Support pricing decisions and commercial negotiations where required.Ensure effective coordination between suppliers, customers, and service providers.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate has likely worked internationally, understands distributor-led consumer goods markets, speaks fluent French, and can comfortably navigate both emerging markets and the U.S. business environment.The ideal candidate combines operational excellence with strong commercial instincts and a practical, entrepreneurial mindset.You should have:Significant experience in import-export, international trade, supply chain, distribution, or FMCG operations.Strong understanding of international logistics, shipping documentation, and customs processes.Experience negotiating with freight providers and distributors.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Demonstrated ability to operate independently and manage multiple functions simultaneously.Strong business acumen and financial awareness.Experience dealing directly with international customers and distributors.Willingness to travel internationally.Language RequirementsMandatoryFluent EnglishFluent FrenchHighly DesirableSpanish proficiencyThe successful candidate must be comfortable conducting business negotiations and customer interactions in multiple international markets.Personal AttributesEntrepreneurial mindsetSelf-starterResults-orientedHighly organizedPractical and resourcefulStrong relationship builderComfortable working in a small company environmentAble to manage ambiguity and rapid changeWilling to take ownership and accountabilityCapable of working effectively with minimal supervisionCompensationCompetitive compensation, including performance incentives, will be offered based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability.Why Join Amalthe?This role offers a rare opportunity to join a growing international company at an important stage of its U.S. development.The successful candidate will have significant responsibility, direct access to senior leadership, and the ability to make a measurable impact on the company's growth trajectory.If you have built businesses, managed international trade operations, developed distributor networks, solved complex logistics challenges, and enjoy working with minimal supervision, we would like to hear from you.
