The ophthalmology professional will perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, and provide medical and, where appropriate, surgical treatments according to current clinical guidelines. Daily responsibilities include reviewing patient histories, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, documenting findings in electronic health records, and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals. The role involves counseling patients and families on treatment options, preventive eye care, and disease management, while maintaining clear, respectful communication. The professional is expected to participate in quality improvement activities, follow infection control and safety protocols, and contribute to a positive, team-oriented clinical environment.Qualifications Relevant medical degree in ophthalmology or equivalent, with completed residency or recognized training in eye care.Valid license or eligibility to practice ophthalmology in the local jurisdiction, and board certification or equivalent credentials preferred.Demonstrated experience performing comprehensive eye exams, diagnosing common and complex ocular diseases, and managing both acute and chronic conditions.Familiarity with ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and technologies, such as slit-lamp examination, fundus imaging, visual field testing, and optical coherence tomography.Strong clinical decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize patient needs and follow evidence-based guidelines.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain diagnoses and treatment plans clearly to patients and families.Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, respecting diverse perspectives and supporting collaborative patient care.Commitment to ethical practice, patient confidentiality, and adherence to local regulatory and organizational policies.Willingness to engage in continuing education, attend professional development activities, and stay current with advances in ophthalmology.Proficiency in electronic health record systems and basic digital tools; knowledge of both English and Arabic is beneficial.
