Job Overview: The Optimization Engineer is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, optimizing, and improving the operational performance of Enerwhere's renewable and hybrid power systems across multiple sites. The role focuses on maximizing renewable energy penetration, improving system reliability, reducing diesel fuel consumption, optimizing Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) performance, and ensuring high asset availability through data-driven operational strategies.The position combines performance engineering, operational optimization, technical troubleshooting, commissioning support, and renewable asset management while working closely with Operations, Engineering, Controls, Software Development, and Business Development teams.Job DescriptionsResponsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Monitor hybrid power system performance using SCADA, monitoring platforms, and analytics tools.Analyze operational KPIs including energy generation, fuel consumption, battery performance, inverter efficiency, power quality, load behavior, and renewable penetration.Identify system performance issues, operational anomalies, and equipment inefficiencies. Develop optimization strategies to improve renewable utilization, reduce fuel consumption, and enhance system efficiency.Analyze asset performance, reliability trends, and operational data to support predictive maintenance and continuous improvement.Prepare performance reports, dashboards, and technical recommendations for internal teams and clients.Support troubleshooting activities, SCADA analysis, and root cause investigations.Collaborate with Controls and Software Engineering teams to improve hybrid control strategies and automation capabilities.Support commissioning, testing, and performance validation of Solar PV, BESS, diesel generators, and hybrid power systems.Work closely with Operations, Engineering, O&M, and Business Development teams to improve renewable asset performance.Visit the site on a regular basis to perform inspection and audit with field specialists and to discuss continuous improvement with customers. Qualifications and Personal Attributes: EducationBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related discipline.A Master's degree or MBA in Power Management or Renewable Energy is an advantage.ExperienceMinimum 8–12 years of experience in power generation, renewable energy, or electrical utility sectors.Experience in Operations & Maintenance of Solar PV, Hybrid Power Systems, Diesel Generators, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).Experience with renewable energy optimization and performance monitoring.Hands-on experience in commissioning and testing of electrical systems is highly desirable.Experience managing multiple sites and renewable asset portfolios is preferred. Understanding of LV and MV network, usage and setting of breakers, controller, capacitor bank, usage of transformers with MV network.Experience with ComAp, SCADA, or equivalent monitoring platforms.Knowledge of data analytics, KPI development, and performance reporting.Familiarity with inverter technologies, transformer systems, LV/MV switchgear, and protection relays.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools (Power BI or similar is an advantage).
