This recognition reflects its strong commitment to quality, patient safety, and the highest standards of clinical care.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role based at Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction, contact lens evaluations, and will support the assessment of a wide range of ocular conditions. The role includes interpreting clinical findings, documenting patient histories and examination results accurately, and collaborating closely with ophthalmologists and other clinical team members to develop and implement patient care plans. Additional responsibilities can include participation in clinical audits, adherence to evidence-based protocols, and contribution to continuous improvement initiatives that uphold Moorfields’ international standards.Qualifications Professional optometry qualification (e.g., Bachelor’s or Doctor of Optometry) from a recognized western institution, with eligibility for licensure/registration in Dubai, UAE. (obtained primary optometry qualification from an accredited university in the UK, Ireland, EU/EEA, USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand) Demonstrated skills in comprehensive eye examinations, refraction, contact lens fitting, and basic binocular vision assessment.Ability to interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., OCT, visual fields, corneal topography).Strong patient communication skills, including clear explanation of findings, treatment options, and eye health education in a culturally diverse setting.Commitment to patient safety, adherence to clinical protocols, and accurate clinical documentation using electronic health records.Experience working in a multidisciplinary eye care environment or tertiary eye hospital setting is highly beneficial.Fluency in English; additional languages commonly spoken in the region (such as Arabic) are an advantage.Evidence of ongoing professional development, familiarity with current best practices in optometry, and openness to participating in teaching or clinical audits.
