The Optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction, visual acuity testing, and binocular vision assessments, to diagnose vision problems and identify ocular health issues. Responsibilities include prescribing and dispensing corrective lenses, advising patients on lens options and eye care, and collaborating with optical staff to ensure accurate fitting and follow-up. The role involves maintaining detailed patient records, adhering to DHA and local regulatory standards, and promoting best practices in eye health and vision care. The Optometrist will also support store teams with clinical guidance, contribute to patient education, and help maintain a high level of customer service and professional ethics.QualificationsValid DHA license or eligibility to obtain DHA licensure as an Optometrist in the United Arab Emirates.Recognized degree in Optometry or a related field from an accredited institution.Strong clinical skills in refraction, contact lens fitting, visual function assessment, and detection of common ocular pathologies.Ability to interpret clinical findings, make accurate diagnoses, and recommend appropriate treatment or referrals.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams.Commitment to patient-centered care, ethical practice, and adherence to DHA and clinic protocols.Organizational skills for managing patient schedules, records, and follow-up appointments efficiently.Comfort working in a retail optical environment, with an understanding of frames, lenses, and optical products (experience in optical retail is an advantage).Proficiency in using optometric diagnostic equipment and basic computer skills for electronic health records.Fluency in English; additional language skills relevant to the UAE context are an asset.Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training.
