Senior Software Engineer (5-8 yrs of experience)Location: DubaiPrimary SkillOracle SQL & PL/SQL Amazon Redshift AWS (S3, Glue, EMR) Python / PySpark Data Warehousing & ETL/ELT Database Performance Tuning.Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior Database Developer with strong experience in enterprise database development and data warehousing. The role will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, optimizing, and maintaining scalable database solutions supporting business intelligence, analytics, reporting, and operational systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain enterprise database and data warehouse solutions.Develop and optimize stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, views, and complex SQL queries.Design data warehouse models and build ETL/ELT processes to integrate data from multiple sources while ensuring data quality and integrity.Perform performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and workload management for high-volume data environments.Automate database and data engineering processes using Python/PySpark.Collaborate with business stakeholders, BI teams, data engineers, and application support teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.Manage deployments across environments and conduct code reviews.Participate in 24/7 production support for production-critical applications, including incident management, troubleshooting, performance issue resolution, and root cause analysis.Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical initiatives and development best practices.Required Skills & Experience7+ years of hands-on database development experience, including at least 5 years in Oracle SQL/PLSQL.Strong experience in Amazon Redshift, AWS data services (S3, Glue, EMR), Data Warehousing, ETL/ELT, and Data Modeling.Hands-on experience with Python/PySpark for data engineering, high-volume data processing, and automation.Experience with BI platforms such as Power BI, MicroStrategy, or Tableau.Experience working in Agile environments and using Git/version control.Airline/Aviation domain experience, particularly with PNR, booking, passenger, revenue, or flight data, is highly preferred.Prior experience mentoring junior developers or leading technical initiatives is an advantage.
