Oral health professionals joining Oakpoint-affiliated practices benefit from a collaborative environment and centralized support that helps simplify day-to-day practice operations.Role Description The Oral Surgeon role at an Oakpoint-affiliated practice in Asheville NC is a full-time, on-site position focused on delivering comprehensive surgical care to patients. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures such as extractions, bone grafts, and dental implant placement, as well as managing pre-operative consultations and post-operative follow-up. The Oral Surgeon will evaluate patient medical histories, develop treatment plans, and administer local anesthesia, sedation, or general anesthesia as appropriate, following all safety and regulatory standards. The role involves collaborating closely with general dentists, hygienists, and clinical staff to coordinate patient care and ensure clear communication of treatment options and expectations. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate clinical documentation, adhering to infection control protocols, and contributing to a positive, patient-centered practice culture.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong clinical expertise in Oral Surgery, including diagnostic skills and the ability to perform a range of surgical procedures.Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Medicine and Dentistry to safely assess overall health, manage complex cases, and coordinate care with other providers.Candidates should possess skills in Anesthesiology, including experience with local anesthesia and sedation techniques, with a commitment to patient safety and comfort.Candidates should possess proficiency in Dental Implants, including treatment planning, surgical placement, and integration with restorative care.Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution and completion of an accredited oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program.Active, unrestricted dental license in the state of Michigan (or eligibility to obtain), along with applicable DEA registration and sedation permits as required.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment and provide clear education to patients.Commitment to ethical practice, evidence-based care, continuing education, and adherence to all clinical, safety, and regulatory standards.
