The technician supports anaesthesiologists during organ transplant surgeries by preparing and checking anaesthesia equipment, ventilators, monitoring devices, and related consumables. Daily tasks include setting up operating rooms, calibrating and maintaining anaesthesia machines, ensuring availability of drugs and supplies, and assisting in patient monitoring before, during, and after procedures. The role involves adhering to infection control protocols, maintaining accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance, and responding promptly to intraoperative technical needs. The technician collaborates closely with surgical, nursing, and critical care teams to help ensure safe, efficient transplant procedures and high standards of patient care.Qualifications Formal Degree in Anaesthesia Technology or a related allied health discipline, with hands-on experience in operating theatre settings.Experience supporting major surgeries, preferably organ transplant or other complex procedures, in a hospital or tertiary care environment.Strong knowledge of anaesthesia machines, ventilators, monitoring equipment, and related accessories, including setup, calibration, and basic troubleshooting.Understanding of sterile techniques, infection prevention and control, and patient safety protocols in perioperative and critical care areas.Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations, including emergency cases and long-duration surgeries, while maintaining attention to detail.Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with anaesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, and other support staff.Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and on-call duties as required for transplant schedules.Commitment to continuous learning, adherence to hospital policies and ethical standards, and respect for diverse patients and colleagues.
