As an Army Orthopedic Surgeon, you will provide surgical and nonoperative musculoskeletal care to Soldiers, military Families, retirees, and other eligible beneficiaries while developing as both a physician and military leader.This opportunity is ideal for orthopedic surgeons who want to practice in a collaborative healthcare environment, lead multidisciplinary teams, and apply their expertise to patient care, rehabilitation, injury prevention, and medical readiness.What You’ll DoAs an Army Orthopedic Surgeon, you may:Diagnose and treat acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries and conditions.Provide operative and nonoperative orthopedic care based on patient needs and clinical assignment.Manage fractures, trauma, joint conditions, sports-related injuries, degenerative conditions, and other orthopedic concerns.Develop treatment plans that support recovery, rehabilitation, functional performance, and return to duty.Collaborate with primary care, emergency medicine, rehabilitation, physical therapy, radiology, anesthesia, and surgical teams.Mentor medical students, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals.Participate in clinical research, quality improvement, continuing medical education, and specialty-development opportunities.Support medical readiness and Force Health Protection through clinical expertise, injury prevention, and patient-care leadership.Serve Full Time or Part TimeActive DutyServe full time as an Army officer and Orthopedic Surgeon. Assignments are based on Army requirements, available positions, and your qualifications, with opportunities to serve in the United States.Army ReserveContinue your civilian orthopedic practice while serving part time in the Army Reserve.
