The Orthopaedic Implant Technician is responsible for providing technical and logistical support for orthopaedic surgical procedures involving implants and specialized surgical instruments. The role requires close coordination with surgeons, operating room staff, sales representatives, and hospital personnel to ensure that all required implants, instruments, and equipment are complete, properly prepared, and available for each scheduled procedure.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, inspect, and organize orthopaedic implants, surgical instruments, and instrument sets prior to scheduled procedures.Provide technical assistance and product support during orthopaedic surgical procedures when required.Ensure that all implants, instruments, and equipment needed for each case are complete, functional, and properly accounted for.Coordinate with surgeons, nurses, hospital staff, and the sales team regarding scheduled cases and product requirements.Deliver, retrieve, and properly handle implant sets and surgical instruments from hospitals and other assigned locations.Maintain accurate records of implants used, returned items, inventory, and instrument sets.Assist in monitoring stock levels and immediately report missing, damaged, or incomplete instruments and implants.Ensure proper handling, storage, cleanliness, and maintenance of company-owned instruments and equipment.Familiarize oneself with the company's orthopaedic implant systems, instrumentation, and surgical techniques.Attend product training, surgical demonstrations, and other company-related training activities.Follow hospital protocols, operating room policies, infection-control practices, and company procedures.Be available for scheduled procedures and urgent or emergency cases when necessary.Travel to different hospitals and assigned territories as required.Perform other related duties assigned by management.Work RequirementsThe position may require flexible working hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency or on-call surgical cases. The employee must also be physically capable of carrying and transporting surgical instrument trays and implant sets.Driving and possession of a valid driver's license are an advantage.
