Through partnerships with Universiti Kuala Lumpur and transfer degree programs with universities in Australia, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand, UTS connects students and staff to a global academic and industrial network.Role Description The OSH Lecturer is a full-time, on-site academic role based at the UTS campus in Sibu. The lecturer will design, deliver, and review Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) curricula, including lectures, tutorials, laboratories, and practical sessions aligned with industry and regulatory standards. Daily responsibilities include preparing teaching materials, assessing student performance, supervising projects, and providing academic advising and mentoring. The role involves contributing to OSH-related research, publishing scholarly work, and participating in collaborative projects with industry and academic partners, particularly in areas relevant to SCORE. The lecturer will also engage in academic administration, curriculum enhancement, quality assurance activities, and outreach initiatives that strengthen UTS’s OSH education and research profile.Qualifications Possess strong expertise in Occupational Safety and Health, including knowledge of OSH regulations, standards, risk assessment, and workplace safety management.Demonstrate skills in curriculum development, instructional design, and student-centered teaching methods at tertiary level.Show capability in academic research, including designing studies, collecting and analyzing data, and producing publications in OSH or related fields.Have proficiency in academic writing, documentation, and preparation of teaching and assessment materials.Exhibit effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to teach diverse groups of students in English.Display strong organizational and time management abilities, including managing multiple teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities.Hold at least a Master’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or a closely related discipline; a PhD is an advantage.Bring relevant professional or industry experience in OSH, and preferably hold recognized OSH certifications or memberships in professional bodies.Show commitment to inclusive, ethical practices, continuous professional development, and collaboration with colleagues, industry, and community stakeholders
