Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob SummaryControlPoint is expanding its OT Cybersecurity Research & Development (R&D) team and is looking for an OT Cybersecurity Researcher passionate about applied research, experimentation, and building innovative security technologies for industrial environments.The successful candidate will research emerging threats and security challenges affecting Operational Technology (OT) & critical infrastructure. The role will involve hands-on research, experimentation, prototype development, and collaboration with our R&D and engineering teams to transform research ideas into practical cybersecurity technologies.
Responsibilities
Conduct applied research in OT cybersecurity and industrial control systems.Research emerging OT threats, vulnerabilities, attack techniques, and defensive approaches.Design and execute controlled OT cybersecurity experiments and attack scenarios.Analyze industrial protocols, architectures, assets, and security controls.Build research prototypes, proof-of-concepts, tools, and experimental environments.Contribute to the development and validation of new ControlPoint cybersecurity technologies.Design test scenarios to evaluate cybersecurity concepts and product capabilities.Document research findings and prepare technical reports, white papers, and research publications.Monitor emerging technologies and research trends relevant to OT/ICS cybersecurity.Collaborate with engineering and product teams to translate research findings into practical capabilities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.Strong interest or experience in OT/ICS cybersecurity.Understanding of industrial environments, including PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS, and industrial networks.Familiarity with industrial protocols such as Modbus, OPC UA, S7, DNP3, IEC 60870-5-104, or IEC 61850 is an advantage.Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts including network security, vulnerability research, threat analysis, and attack techniques.Hands-on research mindset with the ability to build, test, experiment, and document findings.Programming or scripting experience, particularly Python, is preferred.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.Relevant OT/ICS cybersecurity research, publications, certifications, projects, labs, or GitHub contributions are a plus.
