Who We Are: CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City, where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports they need to thrive. We take a comprehensive approach by offering more than 180 integrated programs in: Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. We reach more than 72,000 individuals and families each year at our 100 locations, including 10,000 youth. CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families live in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.PROGRAM: The Crisis Management System is a supporting a set of interrelated services to reduce gun violence in over 88 schools across 40 target neighborhoods. The school-based services component is designed to provide culturally competent programming to at-risk youth to reduce the likelihood of their involvement in violence in their school or community with the goal of increasing their engagement at school as measured through attendance, academic progress, and other measures. The program can also include school-wide activities to assist in changing the culture around violence and to assist schools in their response to incidents that occur in the school or community. Participants should reside in or near the target Cure Violence (CV) catchment area, and be selected based on their risk for, and previously documented engagement in, violence or other infractions in the school or community in consultation with the principal or other school-based leaders plus the designated service providerPosition: Outreach SupervisorReports To: Program Manage

Location: 1667 Pitkin Avenue, Brooklyn NY 11212What does the Outreach Supervisor Do:Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentialityPractice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & ProceduresComply with any and all Federal, State, City and CAMBA security and privacy polices intended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health informationSupport at-risk youth in their efforts to demonstrate an improvement in overall school attendance and academic achievementReduce incidents of violence or other infractions in school or within the communityWork with the Principal/designee and CV provider (where applicable) to identify the youth that will be served by the program Develop a set of services in coordination with the Principal/designee and CV provider (where applicable) to best serve these youthCollaborate and coordinate with CV programs to streamline referral and support for youth outside of the school-based settingMaintain a link between school-based conflict mediation providers and the community-based CV groups to leverage existing services, partnerships and collaborationsImplement Safe Passage routes to promote safety of students as they travel from identified transportation hubCoordinate and/or facilitate necessary services, workshops to foster engagement amongst the parent(s), guardian(s), or caretakers of youth enrolled into the programUtilize a service delivery in the format of workshops, group sessions, or individualized mentoring/counselingEngage/ maintain a caseload of at least 10 - 15 at risk/vulnerable students per school Monitor daily attendance in the form of sign-in sheets, exported data logs from remote sessions and related reportsMonthly meetings (at minimum) between the CBO designee and the principal and/or school designated liaison to monitor services and progressAssist with the oversight of all outreach efforts, program operations and manage direct reporting program staff and their subordinatesCoordinate, lead, and support public education activities, including the development and distribution of public education materials (i.e., flyers, posters, stickers and social media postings to promulgate a cure violence message)Communicate with peers in other CAMBA programs and in other community organizations on issues related to community violence and violence preventionUnderstand all aspects of contract requirements and communicate this understanding to staffWork with staff to set realistic weekly and monthly performance targets in accordance with contract requirementsConduct periodic internal file review and implement Quality Assurance measures as needed to ensure quality service delivery to clientsPrepare contract reports and statistical information for both CAMBA management and funder useComplete program forms and reports for agency finance, payroll and human resources departments as requiredUnderstand and assist with all aspects of contract requirements and communicate this understanding to staffConduct client and program progress reviews with staffPrescreen clients over the telephone for eligibility and may schedule intake appointmentsTrain staff in program responsibilities, processes and procedures and ensure that all staff meets contract requirements in their daily workObserve direct reporting staff engaging with clients and/or supervisory staffAssist in the analysis of program and demographic data to make programmatic improvements Organize onsite and offsite training opportunities for professional development of staffAssist the Program Manager in providing oversight and administration of all aspects of the program, particularly in his/her absenceConfer with the Program Manager, Program Director, and/or other CAMBA management staff as needed regarding programmatic and personnel issuesAttend staff/funder/outside agency meetings as requestedMay develop appropriate marketing material and marketing/outreach strategies for the programMay network both within and outside CAMBA to expand client recruitment and opportunities for client successMay review and sign time sheetsMay prepare performance appraisals for direct reporting staffMay conduct initial intake or assessment of clients and clients' families and periodic reassessmentsMay have direct client service/program responsibilities in addition to the aboveTasks may be modified, expanded and/or assigned over a period of timeMINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:High School Diploma/GED and four years of applicable experience or Associate’s degree (A.S) and two years of applicable experience and/or equivalent experienceOTHER REQUIREMENTS:Program management experience preferred (i.e., supervising staff, monitoring budgets, documenting activities and outcomes, meeting program goals, etc.); and proven community organizing abilitiesEqually at home conversing with gang members, community activists, law enforcement personnel, and public officialsExperience supervising formerly incarcerated individuals is a plusMust obtain and maintain Dept. of Education (DOE) fingerprint clearanceProof of negative results from TB testSubject to a criminal background check and random drug testingNo pending criminal cases or prior convictions for sexual assault, child abuse or domestic violence or history thereofKnowledge of the Brownsville & Canarsie communityExperience working with court-involved young adultsExperience working with staff with criminal justice histories preferredExperience and/or training in community-based crisis interventionFamiliarity with Brownsville 73rd & 69th Police Precinct community challenges of teens and young adults there; strongly preferredAbility to adapt to the culture and environment of a public schoolMust have understanding of, sensitivity and commitment to working with families of youth that have experienced gun related traumaCompensation: $65,000 annually Status: Full-time
