Dawson Company is now 100% employee-owned, offering team members a direct stake in the company’s long-term success.Role Description The Outside Sales Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Kaneohe, HI. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with contractors, engineers, and building owners, promoting Dawson Company’s plumbing, heating, and cooling equipment solutions. Day-to-day activities include conducting site visits, identifying customer needs, preparing technical proposals and quotations, and delivering product presentations and training. The Outside Sales Engineer collaborates with internal teams to provide accurate pricing, application support, and order follow-up, while maintaining detailed records of opportunities and customer interactions. The role also involves ongoing market research, participation in industry events, and proactive territory management to meet or exceed sales targets.Qualifications Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to effectively interact with clients, partners, and internal teams.Proven Sales and Sales Management abilities to develop opportunities, manage a pipeline, and achieve revenue goals.Mechanical Engineering knowledge or a related technical background to understand system design, equipment applications, and specifications.Experience in plumbing, HVAC, or related mechanical systems, with the ability to read and interpret plans and technical documents.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.Self-directed, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a field-based environment.Proficiency with CRM tools and standard office software for reporting, documentation, and communication.Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the assigned territory as needed.
