Role Description The Owner at Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in California, United States, responsible for overseeing overall business strategy, operations, and financial performance. The person in this role provides strategic direction, sets long-term objectives, and ensures that mining operations comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing production reports, approving major investments, guiding senior leaders, and making key decisions on resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder relations. The Owner collaborates with executive and operational teams, maintains relationships with partners, regulators, and community representatives, and ensures that organizational culture supports ethical, safe, and efficient work practices. This role also involves monitoring market trends, identifying growth opportunities, and safeguarding the long-term sustainability and profitability of the company.Qualifications Experience in executive or ownership-level leadership, preferably within mining, natural resources, or heavy industry.Strong background in business management, including strategic planning, financial oversight, and risk management.Knowledge of operational processes in mining or large-scale industrial environments, including safety and environmental compliance.Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders such as regulators, investors, community leaders, and internal teams.Excellent decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on ethical and transparent practices.Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams and fostering an inclusive, respectful, and safety-focused workplace culture.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA or similar) is preferred.Willingness to be present on-site in California on a regular basis and to engage directly with operational activities.
