They follow standard practices and procedures to ensure that products are packed efficiently. They maintain necessary tools and materials needed for packing, keep their workspace clean and organized, and update work performed in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Measures of success: Meet Safety requirements; personal protective equipment always worn in the facilityMeet or exceed daily production requirements100% accuracy on any inventory transactions and quality requirements100% adherence to processes and material usage, no deviationsResponsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Follows detailed, multi-step instructions to pack finished products and any necessary materials manually in accordance with Manufacturing Process Sheets (MPS)and Bills of Material (BOM). Builds custom crates or uses crate kits for certain finished products; builds flange kits as necessary. Enters data into ERP for export and staging of shipmentsReviews job information in ERP system daily to determine orders to process. Maintains inventory of materials needed for packing the production orders. Assembles and staples boxes by using a foot operated stapler. Obtains finished products that need packing based on orders in ERP system. Inspects materials, finished products and boxes at each step in the packing process to identify any visual defects. Labels and date stamps boxes. Inserts the finished products and any other necessary materials or paperwork into boxes. Places packed products in appropriate area per packing requirements. Rotates between different workstations as production needs require or to reduce fatigue. Examines work completed by team members for accuracy and continued operations as well as safety. Moves materials as needed. Uses forklift, chop saw, radial arm saw, nail gun and staple gun. Ensures maximum output for work area; manages time effectively in order to meet strict time deadlines and production volumes. Performs final inspection to ensure that products are accurately packed to specifications as described on the work order; reports any issues to Team Lead or Supervisor. Updates the ERP for work performed. Maintains required documentation as directed. Detects and reports improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, and any unusual conditions to Team Lead and/or Supervisor. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition; ensures equipment is in good operating conditionAttends and participates in monthly safety meetings. Adheres to all safety policies and wears personal protective equipment as required. Performs other related duties as requested. Qualifications:Required:High School Diploma or equivalent preferredMinimum 6 months of experience using power toolsPrevious forklift experience preferredAbility to attain forklift licenseCapable of using basic measurement toolsCompetent to operate computer and complete basic data entry in systemsMust successfully learn specific responsibilities as assigned and adhere to production proceduresProficient and functioning in job responsibilities and able to attain MPS training sign-off within 90 daysPhysical dexterity to manipulate common hand tools and power toolsAbility to push, pull, lift and/or move materials of up to 30 lbs; capable of using hoists for materials over 30 lb Ability to perform repetitive work requiring constant alertness or activity, including standing and liftingCapable of following verbal and/or written instructionGood communication skills with the ability to work within a team settingAttention to detail is essential for successWell organizedWork Environment:This position works primarily in a production floor environment where large equipment and noise are prevalent.  Safety gear is required in these areas.This position reports into the site every workday. This position has no direct reports.
