Job SummaryThe Consultant Paediatrician is responsible for providing specialized medical care to infants, children, and adolescents. The role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of paediatric conditions while ensuring high standards of clinical care, patient safety, and family-centred healthcare.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess, diagnose, and manage infants, children, and adolescents with acute and chronic medical conditionsProvide outpatient and inpatient paediatric consultations, treatment, and follow-up careDevelop individualized treatment plans and coordinate care with other medical specialties and multidisciplinary teamsMonitor child growth, development, immunization, and preventive healthcare needsProvide clinical guidance and supervision to junior physicians, residents, and other healthcare professionalsMaintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with patient safety, clinical governance, accreditation, and hospital policiesQualificationsMedical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) with recognized postgraduate specialization in PaediatricsRecognized specialist qualification or board certification in PaediatricsValid SCFHS professional classification and registration as a Consultant PaediatricianRelevant post-specialization clinical experience meeting Consultant classification requirementsStrong experience in managing acute and chronic paediatric conditions across inpatient and outpatient settingsHospital experience with a strong background in multidisciplinary patient care is required
