The Paramedic will provide advanced life support care, including assessment, treatment, and stabilization of patients in emergent and non-emergent situations. Daily responsibilities include responding to 911 calls, performing inter-facility and convalescent transports, administering medications, operating medical equipment, and documenting patient care accurately. The Paramedic will collaborate with other healthcare professionals, follow established protocols and safety standards, and maintain readiness of vehicles, equipment, and supplies. This role also involves communicating effectively with patients, families, dispatch, and receiving facilities while demonstrating professionalism and compassion.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong clinical skills in patient assessment, advanced life support interventions, medication administration, and emergency decision-making.Candidates should possess proficiency in operating and maintaining EMS equipment, including monitors, ventilators, stretchers, and communication devices.Candidates should possess solid knowledge of EMS protocols, documentation standards, and applicable state and local regulations.Candidates should possess effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, healthcare teams, and dispatch personnel.Candidates should possess the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving patients, and working in varied environmental conditions.Current Paramedic certification/licensure in Virginia (or eligibility to obtain), CPR, ACLS, and PALS or equivalent credentials are required or strongly preferred.Previous field experience in emergency medical services, critical care, or transport medicine is beneficial.A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and the ability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, are expected.
