This role plays a critical part in payroll execution, data integrity, and regulatory compliance, serving as a key resource for payroll operations, audits, and system support. Primary responsibilities include end-to-end payroll processing, payroll compliance and reporting, and payroll systems support.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess payroll accurately and on schedule by reviewing time and attendance data, payroll changes, and compensation updates including new hires, terminations, and promotionsCalculate and validate gross pay, overtime, deductions, benefits, and tax withholdingsMaintain accurate, complete, and confidential payroll recordsPrepare payroll reports and data feeds for internal stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and consistencyEnsure payroll operations comply with federal, state, and local payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, tax requirements, and organizational policiesInvestigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, record inconsistencies, and employee payroll inquiriesPartner with internal departments to ensure accurate payroll-related data exchangeSupport internal and external payroll auditsParticipate in year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and reconciliationAssist with payroll system administration, testing, upgrades, and process improvementsPerform additional payroll-related tasks as assignedMinimum Education & Experience RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldMinimum of five (5) years of payroll processing experienceExperience supporting multi-jurisdictional payrollsPayroll experience within a professional services or similarly complex organization preferredSpecial RequirementsCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) or related certification preferredDemonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee data in accordance with best practices and policyKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and compliance requirementsProficiency with automated payroll systems; experience with UKG or similar payroll platforms preferredStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research discrepancies and propose solutionsHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple concurrent payroll activities and meet strict deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to prepare clear, accurate payroll reports and documentationEffective collaboration skills across teams and organizational levelsAdditional Desired CharacteristicsExperience supporting payroll audits and regulatory reviewsFamiliarity with payroll system implementations or upgradesExposure to payroll reporting tools and data feedsExperience working in environments with complex payroll structuresWork EnvironmentOffice or hybrid work environmentStandard business hours with additional availability during payroll cycles and year-end processingMinimal travel, if any
