This is a varied role, covering Payroll and Office Administration responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who is organised, detail-oriented and enjoys working across both payroll and general office responsibilities.The successful candidate will be part of the day-to-day payroll functions while also supporting the smooth running of the office and providing administrative support to the wider team.Key responsibilitiesPayrollProcess and submit payrolls for clients, accurately and on time.Manage starters, leavers, salary changes and other payroll amendments.Have working knowledge of statutory payments, including SSP, SMP and other relevant payments.Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information.Deal with payroll queries from clients and employees professionally and promptly.Ensure payroll processes comply with current HMRC legislation and regulations.Have basic knowledge of CIS filing requirementsOffice AdministrationProvide general administrative support to the practice and management team.Maintain a consistent office presence to act as the first point of contact for visiting clientsManage incoming calls, emails and general enquiries.Maintain and organise client and office records.Assist with client onboarding and maintaining client information.Prepare documents, letters, reports and other correspondence.Coordinate meetings, appointments and internal administrative tasks.Support the team with Companies House, HMRC and other routine administrative matters where required.About youWe are looking for someone who is:Experienced in payroll processing and payroll administration.Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information.Able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively.Confident communicating with clients and colleagues.Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.Comfortable learning and using accounting/payroll software.Reliable, proactive and able to work independently.A team player with a professional and positive attitude.Desirable ExperiencePrevious experience working within an accountancy practice.Experience using BrightPay or similar payroll software.Knowledge of HMRC payroll procedures and RTI submissions.Experience dealing directly with clients.Previous office administration experience.
