Pediatric Dentist Specialist (Al Dhafra Region)

Job SummarySEHA is seeking a qualified and compassionate Specialist Dentist in Pediatric Dentistry to join its healthcare services in the Al Dhafra Region. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic dental care to infants, children, adolescents, and pediatric patients with special healthcare needs.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive dental assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up for pediatric patients.Deliver preventive dental care, including fluoride treatment, sealants, oral hygiene education, and caries prevention.Perform pediatric restorative procedures, pulp therapy, crowns, extractions, and other procedures within the specialist scope of practice.Diagnose and manage dental caries, oral infections, dental trauma, and developmental dental conditions.Assess dental development, eruption patterns, and occlusion in children.Apply appropriate pediatric behavior-management techniques for anxious or uncooperative children.Manage dental emergencies involving pediatric patients.Provide appropriate dental care for children with special healthcare needs.Educate parents and caregivers regarding oral hygiene, nutrition, preventive care, and long-term dental health.Collaborate with pediatricians, orthodontists, surgeons, anesthesiology teams, and other healthcare professionals when multidisciplinary care is required.Maintain accurate patient records and comply with SEHA standards for quality, patient safety, and infection prevention.Participate in clinical audits, quality-improvement initiatives, and continuing professional development.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Dentistry / Dental Surgery (BDS, DDS, DMD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.Recognized postgraduate qualification or specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry.Relevant post-qualification clinical experience in Pediatric Dentistry.Experience in managing complex pediatric dental cases and children with special healthcare needs is preferred.Licensing RequirementsValid DOH Abu Dhabi license as a Specialist Dentist in Pediatric Dentistry or eligibility to obtain the appropriate DOH license.Must meet the applicable DOH professional qualification requirements for the Specialist Dentist title.
