Advocate Health Care promotes a respectful, inclusive environment and actively engages with the community through clear communication and professional standards of care.Role Description The Pediatric Dietitian is a full-time, on-site role based in Western Springs, IL, providing specialized nutrition care to infants, children, and adolescents in collaboration with the medical team at Advocate Christ Medical Center. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting nutrition assessments, developing individualized diet plans, and implementing medical nutrition therapy based on clinical conditions and growth needs. The role involves providing family-centered nutritional counseling, educating caregivers and interdisciplinary staff on best practices in pediatric nutrition, and documenting care in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards. The Pediatric Dietitian participates in care conferences, contributes to quality improvement initiatives, and supports evidence-based nutrition protocols to enhance pediatric health outcomes.Qualifications Strong foundation in Dietetics and Medical Nutrition Therapy for pediatric populations.Ability to design and adjust individualized Diet Planning for infants, children, and adolescents.Expertise in Child Nutrition, including growth monitoring, feeding practices, and age-appropriate nutrient requirements.Skilled in Nutritional Counseling for children and families, with emphasis on behavior change and clear, compassionate communication.Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential and current state licensure (or eligibility) as required in Illinois.Experience in hospital or clinical pediatric settings, preferably in acute care or specialized pediatric units.Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team, manage multiple cases, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.Knowledge of evidence-based pediatric nutrition guidelines and familiarity with electronic health record systems.Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; commitment to equitable, family-centered care.
