Engineers are required to developed controlled algorithms and associated software depending on date received from different sensors. Based on the inputs certain actions are to be designed to ensure autonomous vehicle will perform in desired manner.Matlab is most common tool they are using.Tools: MATLAB Simulant & Control Desk ( or Dspace tools )Description
- As a Perception Engineer III , you are responsible for leading the design and development of advanced perception algorithms and sensor integration solutions that drive the performance of clients autonomous vehicle platforms.
- You operate with a high degree of autonomy, own complex technical processes, and actively mentor junior engineers on the Perception team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of perception algorithms for LiDAR, radar, camera, and sensor fusion applications across clients autonomous platforms.
- Architect real-time C++ processing pipelines for object detection, classification, tracking, and sensor fusion in embedded environments.
- Define sensor selection criteria, integration standards, and validation processes for new and existing perception systems.
- Drive resolution of complex or non-standard perception failures through root cause analysis and algorithm refinement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with planning, controls, and systems engineers to align perception outputs with broader autonomy architecture.
- Deploy and configure perception systems at customer sites, providing technical leadership during integration.
- Mentor Perception Engineers I and II, conducting code reviews and providing technical guidance.
- Document system architecture, algorithm design decisions, and lessons learned to build team knowledge.Work Experience
